What is shuttering oil (mould release oil)?
Shuttering oil is applied as a thin film on steel, plywood or plastic formwork before concrete is poured. It prevents concrete from bonding to the form, so shuttering can be stripped quickly, formwork lasts longer, and the finished concrete surface stays clean. It is also sold as concrete form release oil or shuttering release agent.
Why use a proper shuttering oil instead of used engine oil?
